Another Success Story

Good afternoon! I wanted to share a success story to add to your collection. When my husband and I moved to our Meath Park acreage from Alberta 8 years ago with our toddler, we immediately wanted a family dog. We adopted a dog (cannot remember hi20150809_153002-1s original name) who was about 4 years old at the time and whom no one seemed to want. We named him King.

King is the lord of our land and has brought us 8 years of immense joy and protection. He is still with us today, albeit slowing down a little. King has become such a vital part of our family that he was even in our wedding photos! Our 9 year old daughter and 4 year old son think of King as part of ‘us’ and King has protected them for years. Just recently, he chased a bear up a tree (and kept him there) when the children were headed out to wait for their school bus. King loves to run and we have clocked him at a topspeed of 40 km/hr! King doesn’t run, King floats! He is one of the fastest, most graceful and gentle dogs we have ever loved.

We are so grateful for King. He is truly a gift. Thank you SPCA!

Meet Alice

Alice is an approximately 5 month old female lab cross puppy who was brought into the shelter on May 14th. When Alice came in she had a skin condition called mange which required a few weeks of treatment. However she is now a very healthy pup and looking for her forever home. She is a very loving and energetic puppy who would love a family who would take her for long walks and give her lots of cuddles. Alice has been started on routine vaccinations, micro-chipped and dewormed. So if you are looking for a new canine family member please come and meet Alice at the shelter or visit our website to fill out an application.

Meet Polly!!

Polly is an approximately 1 year old spayed female who came into the shelter on April 28th. She is a very beautiful cat who absolutely loves cuddles. Polly’s favorite thing to do is sit by the window and watch the world, especially the birds. She is generally good with other cats however she does take a little time to adjust to new cats. Polly would make a great addition to a home full of people because she is a bit attention hog and will soak up all the love you are willing to give her. If you are interested in Polly please come meet her at the shelter and fill out an application on our website
